| The Electromagnetic Education Initiative Open-Grant is the result of non-existent support from traditional granting institutions which too arbitrarily define specific expertise required for grants, thus making it impossible to pursue an entirely new paradigm of consideration. As the EEI is a general and multi-phased endeavor, a strategy of making the grant open for public review by as many parties and peoples around the world as is possible, is meant to improve upon the initiative and also to widen the range of potential grantors, supporters, and participants. And this is the nature of the project itself: to work with many in a transparent organization for common goals.
Thus, the EEI project is not limited to any particular group nor any one point of view of electromagnetism. Its overriding theme is to improve human education in all of its dimensions. So too with those who venture to offer support and funds to realize this project, phase by phase. Particular private political and economic agendas will not be emphasized, and an ethical standard will be established to ensure that the project does not lose its general and inclusive direction, at the same time without stifling the free exchange of public ideas. The reward for funding the EEI will be found in raising awareness of electromagnetism in the public (and private) spheres, and in so doing to provide the foundation for literacy and studies which can advance this knowledge. In this sense, the 'social' aspect of electromagnetic ideas, in terms of their value, will be emphasized, which the EEI will build around and upon (instead of their private political-economic utility). In this sense, 'social venture capitalists' are sought to fund investigating the human understanding of electromagnetism, whether individuals, businesses, organizations, and-or government agencies that want to support this unique work. The content developed for the EEI is defined in terms of its 'social capital,' or the societal value of gathering and disseminating ideas, awareness, and understanding of electromagnetism, which is non-monetary and valued for its relevancy, accuracy, and application in educating the human public. Such work will be exchanged as 'idea-commerce,' in which a not-for-profit marketplace of ideas is defined, created, and nurtured as an educational growth sector. That is, a collaborative environment for learning, and creating future wealth through ideas, and as a result, applying this electromagnetic knowledge to improve society through internetworking and new and innovative explorations. With each phase of the EEI it is important to locate the resources necessary to develop the work described. Because this initiative is currently the work of one individual, the facilitator, and is being created with sweat equity, it is it is believed best that a type of capped, blind-trust need be established, to enable the full-time work if the support of multiple grantors is found. This would help ensure that monies are not wasted, and that the facilitator is fully liable for the project's integrity, and not the funders. This approach would establish a firewall between any particular interests of the funders and those of the content provider, to delineate the separation between the public and private interests. Consultations with lawyers and accountants would be sought to design the best possible organization from which to allow multiple funders to support the independent research and development of electromagnetic content. When feasible, a legal non-profit business organization will be founded around the same principles of the EEI, and venture social capital will enable creating a physical building for this endeavor. At this time, a more formalized board of directors or consul would need to be established, with links to many local and global educational and community-based learning environments. Please contact the EEI facilitator for more information on opportunities for funding this ongoing work. |
