| The model for group and individual participation in the EEI is that of Electromagnetic Internetworking, also known as Electronetworking. It is based upon the idea the idea that persons of various disciplines can learn from those in others, who work on related content, and also advance their works through the exchange of ideas and unique perspectives.
Although the EEI has yet to be established as an official non-profit business, it is still pursued in this mindset. To recognize the need for addressing shared public and private interests, and their ability to meet in 'public work', the organization of the EEI will interrelate works from individuals, businesses, organizations, and government agencies in relation to basic and applied electromagnetic research, design, and development that is in the public interest. The responsibility of defining works as such will be that of the EEI facilitator and a core-group of project consultants.
In each phase, different participants may be predominant in varying degrees and for various reasons. At all stages people will be involved, some with production, some with research and development, and some with equipment donations and sponsorship. The EEI will result in electromagnetic resources freely available to the public, and copyright free for educational use. For example, in the Phase 1, the Electronetwork.org website will seek out a wide-range of people and others involved in electromagnetic research, which will range from databases and links directories, to showcasing works and developing exhibits of electromagnetic artists, scientists, and technologists, amongst others. In Phase 2 the Electromagnetic Literacy project will seek to bring together teachers, students, and educational institutions alongside with consultants and volunteers to help investigate the foundation for electromagnetic awareness. For example, an expert in Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and GIS (Geographic Information Systems (GIS) could participate as a consultant to help the project along. Similarly, language specialists could translate research in several languages for varying readerships. In Phase 3 a wide range of possibilities for Electromagnetic Studies will be explored, which will be best developed by those in various public and private electromagnetic sectors. For example, there is a wealth of electromagnetic knowledge to be found and brought together from work in various fields, ranging from dancers to power companies, astrophysicists to poets, and semiconductor plants to industrial designers. An inclusive understanding which enables access to resources in both the public and private sectors will in turn benefit each of these sectors through innovation and new educational opportunities. In Phase 4 the future Electromagnetic Institute is proposed as a start-up organization and doing so will require establishing a non-profit business. Thus, the collaboration of people of different skills in management, accounting, and community organizing will be needed. As will support from a local community and resources for establishing a place offline for the goals of the EEI. In summary, EEI information and educational materials will be designed and developed for raising public awareness of electromagnetism, and intended for the free and fair-use for educational purposes. This will require both local and global support from various individuals, businesses, organizations, and governments in public and private capacities. This support will in turn benefit both these same realms through innovation and transforming traditional environments and understandings through electromagnetic knowledge. Please contact the EEI facilitator for more information on participating. |
